Montana : Tourist Attractions
Based on location and geography, Montana is divided into six tourism areas. They are Glacier Country, Russell Country, Missouri River Country, Yellowstone Country, and Custer Country. Some of the important tourist spots are:
* Glacier National Park: This Park is located on the Canadian border and is a paradise for hikers with 700 miles of maintained trails. Forests, meadows and lakes make up the landscape of this Park.
* Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument - Southeastern Montana Located in southeastern Montana, Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument is the site of the Battle of the Little Bighorn which took place between the United States Seventh Cavalry Regiment under the leadership of Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer, and the Sioux and Cheyenne led by Sitting Bull.
* Yellowstone Art Museum - Billings The Yellowstone Art Museum was formerly known as the Yellowstone Art Center. Founded in 1964, it is an important visual arts center of Montana.
