Introduction Located on the Clark Fork River, Missoula is nestled in the Rocky
Mountains of western Montana. The Bitterroot River meets the Clark
Fork River on the Southwest edge of town while the Big Blackfoot River
meets the Clark Fork River on the southeast of Missoula.
Missoula has a rich culture and is home to the University of Montana. It is also the birthplace of Jeannette Rankin (1880 - 1973), the first woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Endless
number of sporting activities, outdoor activities, museums, shops and
galleries are important tourist attractions. Missoula is nicknamed the
Garden City and bitterroot, the state flower grows in Missoula.
