Introduction Located in Flathead County, Kalispell is at an elevation of 2,959 feet on the west slope of the Rocky Mountains. The city was founded in 1887 and covers a total area of 14.1 km² (5.5 mi²), all land. It is the north of Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake in the continental United States west of the Mississippi River.
It has a beautiful landscape surrounded by lakes, fertile valleys and mountains.Today this small town is the regional center for northwest Montana and rich in history and culture.
