Introduction The capital of Monatana, Helena is located at the foothills of the Big Belt Mountains on the eastern slope of the Continental Divide. It lies in the fertile regions of the Rocky Mountains and is known as the “City of Gold.” Helena also provides a variety of outdoor activities as it lies on the outskirts of the Continental Divide.
Helena enjoys a continental climate with warm, dry summers and moderately cold winters. November and February are the coldest months in the city. The rainy season lasts from April through July. Late summer, fall and winter are quite dry.
